If you get a cover larger than your pool, as you suggest, how do you anchor it down?

I have a 25′ round above ground pool–with a permanent deck around about a third of the perimeter. The deck prevents me from attaching the cover around the pool exterior using the “typical” round pool method. Last winter (my first attempt using a winter cover), I used the “typical” round pool method for most of the perimeter–but then tried to anchor the cover over the deck using bungee cords across the deck surface. The result was that the wind blew under the deck, under the cover, and lifted the cover like a sail, with enough force that it ripped out the cover’s grommets. How do I prevent this from happening again? Or do I simply have a configuration which isn’t really pool cover-compatible?

I have a free form pool with in ground anchors at varying places around the pool. Is it possible to do a large rectangle cover or do I need to do the point A/B measuring for custom covers?

I would A-B it. A lot of manufacturers will void the warranty on a cover that is not made for the pool size/shape. If you already have anchors, you can A-B both the pool and the anchor locations so you do not need to drill new anchors into the deck.

The dimensions of my pool is 16′ x 32′. It is an above ground pool with a built up deck. Three sides
of the deck are 18″, (C shaped). The other side is has a 4′ wide deck, the sitting area.
The old cover needs replacing but it had a unique set of hold downs. I have not been able to find these hold downs. With a new pool cover from your company will hold downs come with it?

The kind of cover needed for your pool would require special straps, strap hardware, and on top of that, you would want to match the current cover’s anchor points. Stock covers do not come with the kind of hardware, and the straps would not be in the correct position. You’d require a custom cover, and we’d need A-B measurements of all the strap anchor points. Full out Inyo’s custom safety cover measuring form, the A-B measurements explanation page starts at page 4.

I use water bags, 8 or 10 foot, all the way around the perimeter of the pool.
